Special Programs
Health and Fitness - Recent studies show that our society, through the comforts of technology and fast food, has enabled childhood obesity to reach epidemic proportions. Kids ‘R’ Kids knows how important physical activity is to any child’s development. Our unique Health and Fitness Program provides the tools for kids of all ages to learn how to be healthy. Throughout our curriculum, we emphasize healthy bodies, the food pyramid, family style dining, and physical fitness. We stress the importance of fair play, team cooperation, and physical well-being. To help us in this endeavor, we have added "The Gym Station" to our weekly fitness program. Children learn the importance of health and fitness through games, exercises and field day activities. We continue our emphasis on health by offering a menu that is nutritionally balanced exceeds the state recommendations. We also offer a vegetarian and beef alternative for those families with dietary or cultural requirements. We also offer a variety of healthy snack choices, keeping sugar to a minimum. All meals such as breakfast, snacks and a hot lunch are included in each child`s weekly rate. All classrooms from Suites 300 and up enjoy "family-style dining." Children learn the process of serving themselves while practicing social skills and table manners.
Foreign Language - There is no better time to learn another language than during the early childhood years. In fact, a child’s brain is designed to learn multiple languages. Twice a week our school offers Spanish classes through the use of puppets, songs and other interestring props. These classes not only introduce children to a second language but teach little ones the values of diversity and communication.
Dance - Dancing helps even the youngest child express herself with music and movement. Whether it is free interpretation or choreographed movements, Kids ‘R’ Kids offers instruction in dance. Kids love to perform and express themselves with music and movement as they gain a great sense of accomplishment while doing so. - Music - Music is an incredible tool that enhances brain development. Our music program exposes children to a variety of musical styles and techniques while awakening their inner abilities. Children have the opportunity to play instruments, engage in singing activities, and compose their own musical masterpieces while learning about the great composers of our time.
- Computers - Knowing that our future continues to involve the technology of computers, Kids `R` Kids understands the importance of providing your child with the latest in electronic lessons and educational games to support the educational themes taught in school. The older preschool classes are also introduced to "Hooked on Phonics," which adds to our comprehensive reading program. Our library and school age classroom are equipped with computers so that children have many opprtunities to "play" while they learn!
- Sign Language- Kids `R` Kids offers daily experiences learning sign language, which is incorporated into our core curriculum. Children learn to express themselves through sign by teacher-led instruction as well as "Signing Time" videos. It has been proven that children who sign have higher I.Q. scores, are better adjusted and read at an earlier age.
